What's the best ebook reader out there? I'm planing on buying one but can't decide which to buy...  unsure

There's a new one from sony which will be released on november PRS-700BC - an upgrade from there last one - PRS-505 model.
There's also the kindle from amazon.

Can anyone recommend something else or which is better among sony and amazon's kindle?

Thanks a lot!  wink

Hi,

I'd go with the Sony as its file format is not as restricted as the Kindle and its also a more attractive design.

I have the previous model   cool and think its great.

Just got the Sony reader PRS505 and have to say that I love it.  Reading from it does not hurt the eyes at all.  If you're in Canada try www.sonystyles.ca orwww.sonystyles.com if you live in the US or elsewhere.  It sells for about 300 CAD with tax.  I wanted the Iliad iRex because of its Mobi reader but it is way too expensive about 700 plus US.  I believe  Sony is the cheapest on the market in ebook readers.

Has anyone bought or tried the Hanlin ereader from China? I heard they used to make the old Sony Reader as well as other readers sold in the US.

I have been thinking of getting one because it supposedly reads almost all formats, though I have reservations because I might not be able to read the instruction manual and get no service support if something goes wrong...  Anyway, I'd appreciate your opinions

I also own a Eeepc 701 (recentlly I even put on windows7 as a Operating System on it) and indeed I do sometimes read on this little nettop. Only thing I hated was that in bed you would have to have the pc in upright position so reading is not that comfortable.. But it definately works!

I think you can rotate a PDF file 90 degrees so you can hold your netbook like an actual book :)
